LabRat is a useless machine and it was created as a part of the course “Project Creative Solutions” at Saxion University of Applied Sciences. 

It is inspired by the imagination of people and also the recurring state of mind and body, characterized by altered consciousness when a person is asleep. 

The useless machine is a representation of a dream that a child is having. The child is asleep in its room and has a dream about being a scientist who is making experiments. The scientist is a white mouse, which represents the experiments that people do with the mice. 

When the user switches on the machine, intense music starts playing and the hands of the mouse start moving up and down like it is about to make a chemical experiment. And after a few seconds, the user can hear an alarm sound and see a clock coming out of the desk, in front of the mouse, and switches the machine off, ending the dream of the child.
